Understanding the Natural Causes of Global Warming Is Not Where It Ends

While there are certainly natural causes of global warming that certainly is not where the situation stops. Many people will venture to say that the main cause of global warming is actually humans and their actions against the environment. There are a lot of things to consider though as there may still be a lot of issues and causes out there that we do not yet know about which could be working along with the natural causes of global warming. Only time and research will tell though and that is why the science community is actively working on finding out everything they can.

While our scientists may understand the potential threat, too many average citizens know very little about global warming and the harm it can cause. It’s not just the children who haven’t been taught but most of the adults as well. Every concerned adult should have a firm understanding of what we know about the natural causes of global warming, the man-made causes of global warming, and the combined potential impact on our environment and lifestyle. If we fail to act now, whole generations will repeat this dangerous pattern of ignorance and ineffectiveness, and so we should take action to educate toddlers to grandparents about an issue that could have a far greater impact on their life than any other.

Public Schools Are Not Doing Their Part

Many schools across the country now spend some time discussing both the natural and man-made causes of global warming, but the lessons often leave much to be desired. There is nothing wrong with extensive education on this subject as there are only good things to gain from it. After all, these students will be the ones who become our leaders, our employers, our world savers and their greatest task will be the protection of our planet’s ecosystems. Though we are all aware of the burden these children will carry, it seems that few schools have truly stepped forward and made the effort to prepare their students for the future.

If your school is one of those that has failed in its duty to teach your children about the natural causes of global warming, then you should take things into your own hands and give your children the information they need. Even if your school is doing their part, as the parent it is up to you to reinforce the education that they are receiving on the natural causes of global warming. Take everything that you can find on the subject and make sure that you are passing it on to your children so that they too can benefit from it.

Global Warming: Understanding the ForecastGlobal Warming: Understanding the ForecastGlobal Warming: Understanding the Forecast is a comprehensive introduction to all aspects of global warming. Written in an accessible style, this important book examines the processes of climate change and climate stability, from the distant past to the distant future.

Examining the greenhouse effect, the carbon cycle, and what the future may hold for global climate, this text draws on a wide range of disciplines, and summarizes not only scientific evidence, but also economic and policy issues, related to global warming. A companion web site at (http://understandingtheforecast.org) provides access to interactive computer models of the physics and chemistry behind the global warming forecast, which can be used to support suggested student projects included at the end of each chapter. Solutions and artwork from the book are available to instructors at www.blackwellpublishing.com/archer.

Global Warming: Understanding the Forecast provides an essential introduction to this vital issue for both students and general readers, with or without a science background.
