You Can Now Get Green Stickers for Used Cars

You can now find it easier to determine the fuel economy of a used car as they have stickers to enable this and this is good news for the environmentally conscious. This new scheme was launched last November and it involves using colour coded labels with green being the most fuel efficient and red being the least. This scheme has been welcomed by the many different environmentally friendly groups as it makes the decision on which car to buy much easier for the used car buyer.

Of course it isn’t just purely for environmental reasons that people want cars that are more fuel efficient. The cost of fuel can be reduced now and people can decide which car to buy based on this. People will be able to see which cars consume a large amount of petrol as they will have a red label on them. Although the scheme is purely voluntary at the moment, many used car dealers are set to introduce it. The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership group are one of many various groups all promoting the scheme.

These colour coded labels will also have other information on them. CO2 emissions as well as make and model of the car will be included on the label. You can also find out how much it will cost in fuel for 12,000 miles. Cars from 2001 onwards will qualify for this scheme as that was the year when CO2 emission testing on all cars was introduced.

When buying a new car, many people will consider how fuel efficient it is. This new sticker scheme will make this choice a whole lot easier when buying used cars. Hopefully in the future all used cars will be part of the scheme and customers will be able to make fuel savings as well as helping to protect the environment.

When you think it’s time to look out for used cars, you are always better off trying to research your vehicles beforehand. Good research lets you find only the best models available. And when you finally finish your research, you could find yourself leaving the car delears with a splendid used AC Cobra or even a used aston martin.
