Buying some time?

I have often wondered if displacing sea water to the Dead Sea Valley would offset rising waters? The valley is about 250 square miles 1,400 feet deep. I could see two additional potential benefits, the first being more certain: A significant source of carbon free hydropower from the long drop; less certain, more area for water evaporation that may introduce more rain in an arid region. Won’t solve root issues, but maybe buy us more time to get our shit together.
