This might be nonsensical, but it sounds reasonable

If we manage to get 1 million people to plant 2000 bamboo shoots, we can possibly delay when the ice caps will start melting, which would release methane gas and cause an irreversible process of the earth heating itself up

There's probably a flaw to this because no one has ever tried it before, but I think it sounds semi-reasonable
