New report from University of California Institute of Transportation Studies shows how CA can make its transportation system carbon neutral by 2045.

A team of researchers from four UC's have just released a report on how California can make its transportation system carbon neutral by 2045. It's an ambitious target, but feasible. No single technology will be able to solve the problem on its own, it will take a combination of electric vehicles, transit, alternative fuels, and more to achieve the goal. Over the long run, the fuel cost savings from more efficient vehicles far outweigh the costs to make the change, and the transition will lead to a net increase in employment, better air quality, and help address historical inequity.
